A high-ranking Russian general has been killed following an blast in Moscow, according to official statements.

The incident occurred on Monday morning when an explosive device planted beneath a vehicle exploded, leading to the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.

Sarvarov held the position of the head of the armed forces' department for training operations.

Authorities indicated that one possible explanation involves the potential involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. So far, Ukraine has remained silent.
